There are roughly 150 AA E190 CAs out of 15000 pilots. They have a lot of WB FOs who make a lot more than any of their 190 CAs. A 6 year WB FO makes more than their 190 CAs. Even their 320/737 FOs make more than their 190 CAs. I’d be surprised if they even had a 12 year 190 CA. The upgrade there is way faster on the 190 than it is here, because no one really bids it when they can make more and have a better schedule in the right seat.
Roughly 1/4th of our pilots are E190 pilots. We don’t have the bidding options they have, nor do we have the opportunity to make as much in the right seat as we do in the left seat like they do. I guarantee that year for year, especially going forward, everyone at AA makes more than JB pilots with equal year’s service.
I know lots of guys like pointing out we are the highest paid 190 pilots in the industry, but when you look at the context of where our pay falls in its totality, there’s more than just 190 rates vs 190 rates. 190 rates are irrelevant to 99% of AA pilots, and 100% of DL/UAL/SWA/ALK pilots, all of whom make more than our 190 pilots, and most of whom who make more than our bus pilots.
