Maybe they have a 1500 square foot home in the Bay Area or Hawaii that’s been paid off for generations.

As a former California family, we don’t care for those tax rates, nor do we care for their politics, nor do we see that the climate in SoCal is worth the overinflated price of real estate. But to each their own....
