Then, look for a department/operator that has some strong internal controls and processes regarding flight and maintenance; has extensive international ops and a leadership that knows what they are about. If they can’t give you straight, confident answers about their policies and procedures, show you in black and white how they work; look elsewhere.
Next, learn and never stop learning. Attend a safety program like USC or ERAU, if you don’t know the answer, don’t ask, look it up, do research. It’s not the easy way, but it’s what works.
Become the local expert in an area you are passionate about, study leadership, do the NBAA CAM program.
