Also, how come nobody talks about the EPO? I know it's one network but I've been using the UHC network for 10+ years and I've never gone to a doctor or specialist that doesn't take the insurance. Is there some other kind of pitfall there I'm not seeing?
Insurance committee put out a very nice comparison a couple years back showing each plan in both healthy and catostrophic years. If it weren’t for the HRA contribution the diamond plan wouldn’t be worth it unless you just wanted to save money. With the company contribution you essentially erase the duductible risk for the exact same coverage and lower premiums. I think it won on every example given by the union with no sacrificing coverage.
