I have a black North Face parka that I wear (without a gaudy furry hood). I’m sure the old, crusty, traditional pilots would say it’s unprofessional, but you can bet your ass I’m never cold doing a preflight. If they care about my outerwear, they can gladly do the preflights in negative temps.
