Sadly this is true, I lived and was based in NY (where IVF coverage is required) but since my airline is not headquartered there they didn't have to pay. Health coverage is controlled by what state the company is based, not where you are.
Now, when I need to take FMLA, that's controlled where you work... So I get to benefit from the new NY rules.
Confusing and dumb, but... that being said, we ended paying out of pocket. And we're currently prego with our first. Good luck!
