To me, it sounded like you have this NL3 character pegged. His post definitely sound condescending to me. He could have more easily gone over to the pilots he is complaining about and give them this advice. But instead, he airs their dirty laundry on a public message board to let maybe a couple of pilots here who might read this thread and are going to k4 know what a checklist actually does. And at the same time lectures them by telling them to have the initiative to ask when again, he could have easily taken the initiative and mentored these new guys privately.
But then again, I’ve been misinterpreted many times here because of my poor written communication style.
