Somewhere, in a room of the NMB’s D.C. Headquarters, there is a company lackey with a signed non-disclosure agreement from our union. That company mouthpiece is pumping smoke up the buttts of our NC and MEC members. They say it’s privileged information but instead it’s a just a tall tale of an imminent merger, or sale of the company, etc. Something that gives us an ultimatum to “take this deal now or see what happens to you otherwise.” It’s a old trick, a long period of silence followed by a “Last, Best, and Final” offer. I’ve seen the unions fall for it before; they’re frankly grown tired and too afraid to see what’s on the other side so they take the bait.

If that’s truly happening here, I can only hope they don’t take the bait.
