I've been told by every financial guru that I must make a budget and "tell my money where to go" to be successful at money management. How on earth can I make a budget when I can't figure out what my paychecks are going to be from month to month. Don't get me wrong, I do get paid pretty well, but I can't fill out a simple month budget and PLAN how to distribute my earnings; I have to wait until payday and THEN do the budget.
You do realize that every paycheck you get is going to differ by a few dollars to thousands of dollars? And that amount can change up to the last day of the month? It sounds like you want to know 2 weeks in advance what you will be paid.
If I was into figuring out a budget and needed to know exact figures, I’d plan on getting paid the minimum so I would base my monthly budget on the reserve guarantee. Anything over that, right now, would go into an investment account labeled “Strike Fund.”
