No A320 SEA base, but a A320 reduction?

You say very few-if any A320 in 5 years but AAG seems to be serious about painting and retro-fitting them. Is this a waste of money by a a very fiscally conservative team?
Are the savings realized by renegotiating orders with Boeing/EMB/A220?
