Heck, they cut 1600+ hours out of the January schedule for the lack of pilots. Name another time in the history of ALPA in which they have told pilots not to go to an airline? I’m not saying new hires are the problem, but they are certainly not the solution right now. Once we ratify a contract, new hires will be welcomed with open arms. Till, then, do yourself and us a favor and stay the hell away.
Ok I will play. Northwest, US Airways, Spirit, and Allegiants unions all said similar things to get the word out to potential new hires. I’m sure if I keep digging I could find a time when Delta and United we’re struggling and used similar negotiating tactics. Most recently Spirit had a similar web page to us about the reality of their old contract. Yet, I don’t remember reading anything on these dang forums blaming new hires for their management dragging it out.
