I’ve seen some classes have a month break at various points (like when there was a class of 29 E190 guys), some with 2 weeks, etc.
Let's play a bad case scenario out...
They dump ALL new hires into the 190 and it's two sims. They start running classes much bigger than those two sims/IOE instructors etc can handle. There are large breaks (month long plus) due to the training backlog. When do new hires come off of training pay? If there is a backlog, is there any contract protection? For example, no fault of the pilot's, five months and not finished with IOE, etc.
TIA.
