SWA, 4th year FO, has good enough seniority to hold an average hard line, so 17 days off in a 30 day month, credits 90 hours at $145, so 13K. On top off that 15% defined contribution, and 12% profit sharing (I know, results from the past are no guarantee for the future) so 16.8K total.
NK, 4th year captain, definitely, bottom third of list, so 14 days off with 72 hour credit at 200, 14.4K, on top of that 14% DC and 2.5% 321 so 16.8K.
Drop a 3 day for same days off, so down to 60 hours, and you are down to 14K.
Also vacation months are way bigger at SWA, and you get more vacation earlier.
You really can't compare pay rates, also growth is a lot more fickle so counting on a 4 year upgrade is a lot riskier than going to a place with a CBA with FO rates that are good.
I think we can all agree Southwest is a far superior airline to Frontier and Spirit for that matter. My argument was based on the pay rates on APC. I don’t have a copy of the schedules but I know they are productive. It says on APC their B fund is 13%...is that not correct?
