People don't need to be kicked out of the flight deck so long as they keep getting cheaper. Imagine a future where two people seated up front wearing pilot uniforms promoting the image that human hands have a valuable input into the flight.

Slowly but steadily automation is taking over. The supposed "pilot shortage" is going to help it along. It's not going to take very long either. The issue is in regards to pay and not about losing jobs.
