I asked a DGS instructor about it recently and he was vague on what the ATP-CTP course does for your application. An F/A-18 buddy has had his app in for a while, only to see (arguably) “lesser qualified” mil candidates receive interviews. Those candidates completed DAL’s ATP-CTP whereas he received his ATP through a local FBO. Would be a shame to see a “pay to play” scheme emerging, but admittedly I’m not familiar with the details of the program.
Yeah, cause spending 12 to 20 years in the military flying airplanes doesn’t make these “lesser qualified” candidates competitive (sarcasm). This is not a pay to play scheme. If your friend is highly qualified, an internal rec will result in an interview, especially once hiring spins back up again.
