All Captains at Horizon do weight and balance on a palm device (actually it's a Dell). They get them in upgrade class.
That's definitely something that you don't see "other" regionals doing. It's definitely easy to create an excel program and interpolates the CG Wheel. I'm just too lazy to create one.
It's definitely not approved but you can use it to check your your calculations and make sure that you're on top of it.
