It’s a great place to be. That said, you have to work for it. Study, study, study. I’ve seen guys dropped before ever getting to the full motion sims. The fixed base sim is when it notches up and starts putting it all together. If you haven’t built a solid base before getting there, catching up is extremely hard to do.

Take it serious and study hard, the instructors are some of the best around and will gladly help in any way possible. They want you to succeed.

Suggested Get list:
International power adapter
8.5 x 11 clipboard
Calculator
Flashlight (the new Tac lights are great)
iPad with GoodReader app to use for manuals
Company required windows laptop (widescreen is better for the Aerosim program, but a notebook size works too)
Skinny thermos (for coffee/tea drinkers)
T-Mobile phone service is used by most.
3 ring binder with hole punch for the multiple handouts in class.

The training hotel will have a mini kitchen and you can use a crew car for a nearby super Walmart. The training hotel has a CPT for both the 767 & 777 in the crew room.

Scheduling is done on the AIMS system. There are apps for phones and tablets to make it less painless.

You won’t need your own headset on the 767. There are telex 750’s there and they come off at FL180 anyway. No intercom anyway.

Kitbags seem to be either a rolling small catalog sized bag, a real 8x18 kitbag, a backpack or a newer laptop style bag. I like the backpack type since it can be used for walking around exploring on the common 2-5 day layovers. Timbuktu makes a nice one that does double duty. It’s a laptop bag, that has hidden shoulder straps making it a backpack. The backpack also, lets you keep an extra set of clothes handy in the event your roll aboard gets checked and temporarily lost.

Pilots do get KCM for in the states and have jumpseat agreements with just about everybody. No uniform hats, and the jackets are either the pilot leather or black north face styled zip up.

Study study study.... and welcome aboard !!!
