Lake Conroe for boating can be fun for the right people. I had a boat up there for 3 years and while it was fun it wasn’t for me. The reason is it’s nothing but a d1ck measuring contest on the weekends. Nothing but hundreds of losers in their “bad ass” ski boats driving drunk recklessly everywhere just wanting to be seen. That’s not my crowd at all so we would go weekdays only and the lake is very empty on those days. Weekends? Forget it. It’s packed and that’s a huge lake.

Having said that, the houses on the lake can be nice with lots of amenities. Conroe schools have been improving year over year. There’s plenty to do around Conroe anymore as it’s become a big city. Housing gets expensive though the closer you are to the water so be prepared.
