None of you discussing Houston are talking about “Houston”. I’m listening to discussions about Conroe, The Woodlands, Katy, Kingwood but not a single mention of the city asked about. Houston has great neighborhoods like West U, the heights, Montrose, Midtown, and Tanglewood. All of these neighborhoods are about 30 minutes from the airport and actually (yes, can you believe it..) IN HOUSTON. Great restaurants, museums, night life etc with a mix of liberal, conservative, and everything in between. Houston is not a gun toting, conservative city. The burbs around it can be (nothing wrong with that, just labeling “Houston” as that is not accurate). You want year round boating? Just south of Houston is Galveston Bay/Clear Lake and the Gulf of Mexico (all connected). Everything from center console fishing boats to 100 foot yachts all around. Is the water blue year round? Not along the shore but go out a mile or two and you’d think you were in Florida. Lots more to “Houston” than the areas (completely separate counties) up North of the airport.
