IN HOUSTON. Great restaurants, museums, night life etc with a mix of liberal, conservative, and everything in between. Houston is not a gun toting, conservative city. The burbs around it can be (nothing wrong with that, just labeling “Houston” as that is not accurate). You want year round boating? Just south of Houston is Galveston Bay/Clear Lake and the Gulf of Mexico (all connected). Everything from center console fishing boats to 100 foot yachts all around. Is the water blue year round? Not along the shore but go out a mile or two and you’d think you were in Florida. Lots more to “Houston” than the areas (completely separate counties) up North of the airport.
Inside the loop (Montrose/hieghts, etc) is great if your 20-something or love city life and love the rainbows painted on the streets along with the clientele. Traffic inside the loop is awful and no where to park your car unless you valet everywhere. But those that desire that style of life will fit right in. Like the burbs, it’s all in what you want and nothing wrong either place as long as you have all the info you can get to make the best decision.
