For future reference KAL has a direct Inchon to Chiang MI flight that works with our inbound Delta flights. I think it was around $100 Zed.

Sorry can’t help you on Tokyo, stationed at Mishawa many years ago but I was poor and had 4 kids. Our adventures consisted of trips to the local Ramen house. The kids did love the local fish market so that is definitely a must see if you can get to one. If it slimes, slithers or crawls in the ocean the Japanese will eat it. Makes for some interesting viewing and smells.

Thanks for all the replies. I've got 11 days but with the 4 travel days + 2 days minimum of feeling like garbage I'll have to do Thailand another time when I've got at least 14 days off. Not to mention the Seoul to Chiang Mai flight leaves 50 minutes after the scheduled arrival in Seoul, and it's only 1 flight every 2-3 days . Maybe I can convince the wife to go skiing instead of eating, nah, probably won't be able to do that .
