Certainly logical. I’ve just heard this hypothesis a few times now and there doesn’t seem much to back it up. In today’s corporate America most CEOs are short term and manage for the quarter. It’s all about Me me me. Seems odd to negotiate a big order and let your successor have all the glory.
I can think of one good reaso for Bob to want Ted to be successful: stock options.
