I also think it’s stupid that the required ATP-CTP course doesn’t prepare you for the ATP Written, meaning we all have to buy Sheppard Air ATM prep software and study on our own before the class, and then take the written after the class. If this is the model now, it should all be integrated and designed to produce successful ATP pilots - especially for us former military guys who may not be familiar with certain aspects of civilian/airline flying such as Jepp charts, weight and balance calculations, and civilian weather services. It’s a lot to learn in a short period of time and the process is sub-optimized.
