9-11 months training backlog is the norm for NH FOs at the moment.
As far as CLT, since training takes so long, folks are able to get it by the time they’re done with training.
If the DCA base allegedly in the works pans out in 2019, there will be some shifting around. Also, PSA is projected to lose 24 50 seat aircraft in the next 2 years or so. If PDT is chosen to cover that then you’ll see a CLT expansion. As others have said, a bunch is up in the air right now that could affect timelines for line pilots in CLT, but there’s also training center instructor options that will get you there.
PSA is not “losing” aircraft for flying to be picked up. PSA is dumping the CRJ200s on property one for one for CRJ900s new from the factory and continuing their flying with them especially as DCAs ability to ground handle improves and the new terminal materializes further into 2020. Just wanted to clarify your information as it doesn’t relate to any new flying for any airline currently.
