well i have used CBT stuff in the crj200 class at my school and its ok. I believe PSA uses the same software as i had with that "non-normal voice" teaching you the systems (atleast iv been told). Using CBT then, i had used a notebook and wrote down notes as the slides went through. It requires alot of understanding as you go through it. you can always replay the slides as you go (atleast the kind i used). It does include alot of info. You can go at your own rate which i believe is very beneficial. The best i believe is when you can go through the use of the autopilot profiles and use of the FMS. I have used programs where you can do pretty much whatever u want and explore the use of the systems on your own. The J-pattern (FMS) is something you get down pretty good after doing it a million times on your own. After learning the basics in class, i think its very good to be able to go on your own and review it as much as you want until its a peice of cake. Make sure that if you have any questions about the stuff, you write it down and ask when it comes class time. Chances are 90 percent of everyone else in the class are wanting to know the same thing. If its something everyone else knows, then you are going to get responses from probably almost everyone durring the class helping you.
