Military? Hey, me too (formerly). Make sure you get your military IP/EP time counted. Take the FAA test to get CFII added. Use your Post 9/11 GI Bill to go get a 737 type rating (and your ATP at the same time if not done yet). Finally, and most painfully, go fly for a regional for a few months to a year. I won't lie, it is a painful experience, but when you and everyone else has X thousand hours, a Master's Degree, tons of real-world leadership experience, etc. etc., a 121 tour roughing it in the RJs for a while will set your app apart.
