I never thought of it that way honestly. Technically both, I did change employers and even after taking first available i didn’t upgrade until over 6 years total in the right seat. I guess looking at it that way my total time is actually lower than it should be for years of flying.


but again back to the point of this thread. new hires today will have about 2 yrs to upgrade in most places, while some will be eligible at 1000hrs of 121. and many places have flows, unfortunately mine does not. tho i will be honest, the flows don’t seem to be the carrot they once were as hiring at majors is still not at the advertised “pilot shortage” levels
