So whipsaw for the current amount of 70-76 ac will continue. 50 seaters are not scoped out. UA is giving 50 seat flying to anyone of their FFD airlines who can staff it.
If you are working for any FFD UAX carrier, having all or at least some 50 seaters is good and is the only true growth that isn’t moving flying around.
Even if UA buys the E2 or the 220 and opens up more 76 seaters - that would not happen soon.
All that said, Delta’s approach to 50 seaters is more in line with your point so I would agree with you there however that is not applicable to us.
Exactly. Will we get more 50 seat flying? Maybe, maybe not. But it can occur organically under united’s current economic situation. Any 70/76 seat flying has to be shuffled around and is intrinsically unstable.
