Reducing headcount further is the ENTIRE focus of this IBI. More pilots will migrate to the 72 and 76 CC schedules and frequently with the long tour option in order to maximize Pharaoh's Riddle. The minute a pilot hits the magic number, a goodly number will then extend, further reducing hiring demand.
At a guess, we'll be down another 100 pilots two years from now.
The company ain't totally stupid.
The company isn’t totally stupid. They can’t scale properly, history has shown us that. So how do you increase profits when you can’t scale? Reduce pilot salaries and head counts while increasing productivity.
I would say management is smarter than the MEC any day of the week. Interesting how lots of the pilot group is completely oblivious.
Pilot numbers are actually down about 400 from 2015.
