That's incredibly normal. I had 3500 hours of SIC in one airplane, over five years, before I upgraded at the first available opportunity. Just three - four years ago, upgrade was still nine years at Eagle, and ten years at Horizon.
As I said, I understand being UNABLE to upgrade earlier due to either forced employer changes or just slow upgrade. But we are seeing more people ELECTING to not upgrade to avoid being a junior captain on reserve, and I simply wonder how the recruiters or interviewers at the major level are going to score that.
