UAL only pulls the strings to a limited extent. They don’t tell the regional who or how to hire or fire. They don’t negotiate with the union or deal with the FAA. Or, GoJet would have never been engaged in the practices they have.
If you look at CommutAir as an example (also controlled by United), ExpressJet is about to undergo significant changes. They will have an enhanced CPP program with pilots going to United in less than 3 years.
You are right...Subodh Karnik (not United) is running the show, just like he did at CommutAir..
