Probably too difficult to answer...
Depends where you're coming from, and where you want to live.

If you want to live in the Northeast and are making less than $150k, ten years would be worth the jump.

If you want to live in the west, not commute, and already make $200k, seems to me you'd need 15-20 years to make it worth while.

Obviously depends on the destination airline... how many retirements, pay, and domiciles.
