All planes that are leased have to be returned in the same way they were received. The lease terms generally state the same part numbers when you took delivery.
I don’t think this is a great sign. It’s a sign of sending planes back to the lessor.
I am guessing the reason he thinks it is a good sign because a regional planning to file for bankruptcy and shudder it’s doors would not worry about planning for returning the aircraft to the lessor. On the other hand, a regional that intends to have continued operations, such as under Delta colors, would worry about the return of leased aircraft under the United colors.
It still doesn’t spell good news for GoJet pilots. It probably is good news for a GoJet mechanic at least in the short term.
