Pilot A is a senior captain who was age 55 at DPRP termination, so he is a PC-3 pilot. When the DPRP was frozen on December 31, 2004, he had 18 years and nine months of service with Delta and a Formula Benefit of 45.0 percent (2.4 percent x 18.75 yos = 45.0 percent) of FAE. Although his actual FAE exceeds $205,000, his qualified FAE is $205,000. For purposes of the Model, his Model-defined qualified annual benefit is 45.0 percent x $205,000 = $92,250 or $7,687 per month. He also had a non-qualified annual amount of $24,264 or $2,022 per month.

Pilot B is a mid-seniority captain who was age 46 at DPRP termination, so he is a PC-4 pilot. When the DPRP was frozen on December 31, 2004, he had 14 years and eight months of service with Delta and a Formula Benefit of 35.2 percent (2.4 percent x 14.67 yos = 35.2 percent) of FAE. Although his actual FAE exceeds $205,000, his qualified FAE is $205,000. For purposes of the Model, his Model-defined qualified annual amount is 35.2 percent x $205,000 = $72,160 or $6,013 per month. He also has a relatively small non-qualified annual benefit of $1980 or $165 per month.

Pilot C is a relatively junior pilot who was age 40 at DPRP termination, so he is a PC-4 pilot. When the DPRP was frozen on December 31, 2004, he had six years and three months of service with Delta and a Formula Benefit of 15.0 percent (2.4 percent x 6.25 yos = 15.0 percent) of FAE. His actual FAE is $118,000, but for purposes of the Model, his imputed FAE is $205,000. For purposes of the Model, his Model-defined qualified annual amount is 15.0 percent x $205,000 = $30,750 or $2,562 per month. He does not have a non-qualified amount.

To me it looks like Sailing is correct that 8k is low when looking at these examples and adding the Note and MPPP distributions together. Seems like that pilot is closest to Pilot C who received 37k from MPPP and 34k from Note

Great ALPA math. Look up an age 60 straight life single payment annuity. Can't get close to these numbers. OFG
