To your first question of is it possible to become a regional captain, yes it is absolutely. As far as quality of life goes it really depends. If things continue going as they have been then you will be golden after 20 years at a regional and most likely will end up at a major. But as history has shown us we will have some sort of economic slide eventually that will stop hiring. You very well could end up a very junior regional captain when you retire with pay cuts. Most of the younger guys can ride these bad waves out but you won't have that luxury. Depends if you want to take that gamble or not.
