Default HKG info

Any and all HKG folks who are willing to share, could I get some answers straight from the source to a few questions? - public or PM is fine. I'm in contact with ALPA, but some "operator to operator" direct communication seems like another good option. I've also read the CBA multiple times and .......it's a contract and I'm not a lawyer. So, I'm not willing to hang my hat on my personal interpretation of all that's there.

1 - Is there a specific department, person or resource at FedEx that would be considered the one-stop answer department for question on moving and living there? (or multiple departments as long as I can get accurate info)

2 - Do you folks have a forum, FB page, etc that shares info (and I realize open source sharing of info in light of past events is probably not prudent in all cases)

3- What move packages are available and how is the one that applies determined? Is relocation package #1 with the home marketing assistance and third-party purchase program an option?

4 - Pro/Cons of the Existing CBA option (3-year) vs Enhanced Option (2-year) - what do you gain/give up by choosing one over the other?

5 - How do the company paid tickets for residence search (pre-activation) work? Same question for company paid visitation tickets back to the US during your assignment there (frequency, number of tickets, etc). If you don't use all available during the initial residence search, can they be used later?

6 - Three college age kids with one about to tie the knot and graduate. The other two will be full time college students with summer commitments. Do they need to set foot in HKG or is my wife relocating with me and just the two of us living there good enough?

7 - is a "minimalist" approach to the move a realistic option? Max downsize before we leave, keeping only major items. Ship very little if anything over there - purchase basics (furniture, beds, dishes, etc) once there. Use company paid storage for what remains in the US until we return.

8 - Any lessons learned during any part of the experience - pre-move, training, setting up residence there, day to day life there.

9 - Cats and dogs, the good, bad and ugly will all be very appreciated as I attempt to educate my S.O on what we can expect. She's onboard and pushing this rope reasonably enthusiastically, but I think I owe her all the hard, accurate facts I can find.

Thank in advance.
