I'll also add that the desktop version worked fine offline, was a stand alone app that didn't require I clear my cache for my global web browser on a regular basis, and had more functionality in a much easier to use package.
The desktop app did not work on Macs which a big/growing percentage of the pilot group use. The pilot group wanted something that works across all platform and not just windoz. I'm actually pretty happy that I don't have to load windows on my Mac...it seriously slowed down my previous Mac. Also, you can clear just Delta.com rather than everything from your cache...I have to do this occasionally to get to travelnet.
