I’ve never seen them give me rest with more than the min time to change an X-day, but if so, I would definitely give that a try. I have personally witnessed them give me rest, then have to GS cause of a pop up trip so I don’t think they can retroactively “un rest” you. But hey, all I know is I stayed at a holiday in last night.
Last reserve trip was in October.......living the dream my friend, long way from 12 hour days, sof, sup, vdo, cc calls at 5pm on a Friday after a 4vX and still having to debrief
You have to move XX days 3 days in advance, so if you take my example as a LC assignment assigned the day prior to the TRIP, you would have enough time to move that ** day. I've done it before where I needed REST one way or the other but never in a case like this hypothetical situation, where moving the ** day would only give me 6 days of RES in a row and thus eliminate the need for any rest during my RES commitment.
As for "unresting", if you've already begun the rest then you have no obligation to check your schedule so they probably couldn't rescind it. In a situation like my hypothetical I'm required to check my schedule within 30 minutes of block-in on the last leg of my TRIP so I assume they'd have up to that point to rescind it.
