It's probably not too late for a course correction if there's enough noise.
Double breasted jackets can't do the casual unbuttoned look, have to be buttoned, IOW have to fit. That would affect a lot of full-body pilots.
The tie will get changed based on our input, no doubt. If I were cynical I would even say the tie is an intentional angst magnet canard so they can later change it "based on overwhelming input from our valued employees," allowing us buy in to the new uniform.
