Imagine if it worked like back in the day of the scantron and app. In theory, people would simply get called/emailed based on those QUALIFICATIONS.
What qualifications really matter after a few years of 121 PIC? Majors
doesn’t care that you grease them on slightly better than someone else. I’ve flown with guys that have been flying longer than I’ve been alive that can’t fly half as well as a new upgrade; but at the end of the day they both got where they were going safely. Anyone with a clean record and PIC time shows that they can operate safely consistently and that they can get through training.
So how do you differentiate applicants? By their willingness to be a team player and engage in the types of activities and culture that united or delta or whoever wants to foster.
They don’t want the type of people that refuse to play “the game” because there are thousands of other competent pilots that happily play the game.
