I don’t see HR having an issue with somebody trying to gather all the possible information they can first. The airline did file bancruptcy and furlough for almost a decade not all that long ago. The last time I looked, which was about a year ago, UAL was the least profitable airline in the US with single digit profit margins after almost 10 years into an economic bull run. I know things are heading in the right direction and the airline is now growing rapidly but you have to evaluate potential risk. Worst case in a recession, furloughs seem unlikely due to massive upcoming retirements but pay will get hacked first at an airline that runs half the profit margin compared to the LCC’s in the 20%+ range.
