Just a quick question....have you actually spoken to your rep about this? If not, I believe it would be worth your time to get a little more information on the process.....where it has been and where it is going. There are things they can say that they won't publish.

It's obvious that you and Randy are VERY passionate about this. I appreciate that.....and.....there was no way everybody was going to be happy about the outcome. If it would have been grey, a different group would be calling for someone's head. Or if the stripes had been this or that and so on and so on.

Do I believe that a resistance to change is a big part of this.....you bet I do! How much did people whine about wearing a walk around vest? Ask a LUAL pilot what they think about the cheese grater on the tail....ask a LCAL pilot about saying "United" on the radio. Change is hard....it's not just a saying!

Posters argue that because most of the comments are negative, everyone is against it. As in most things, negative emotions/comments are the ones that are most visible......remember the vocal minority bracelet??? We haven't even heard from 1% of the group, I have no idea how the other 99% feel.

YOUR MEC approved this new uniform after weighing the options provided by the uniform committee. Is the color what I would have chosen no. Is it unacceptable??? Since it's close to the old legacy United blue and what American used to have, I can't see an argument there.

Are the thin stripes unacceptable? Let's see....legacy United, UPS, Alaska have them so I would say no.

Is silver unacceptable? Obviously not.

How about the tie? Would it be my choice.....hell no! Did ALPA have any say in the accent color given to our group....nope. Can we do better? Totally!

I applaud your desire to engage in the process, that's how it is supposed to work. We also have to trust in the process and accept the results when it has run its course.

No matter what the final color/style is, there will be unhappy pilots......that's a fact none of us can argue.
