Give me something professional that I won’t be embarrassed wearing in front of colleagues and the general public. Small changes of the color to the current design shouldn’t be a huge ask. Pilots don’t need to be making fashion statements for the airline.
Ive seen it in person.....still a giant "YUCK" and a major fail for both the Uniform committee and the designer (that may be harsh but you signed for the job you get to take the heat)
Also with talking to many pilots they feel ALPA is out of touch with the line pilots ---the survey obviously wasn't taken into consideration by the company what so ever--this is when ALPA needs to step in and make our voices heard (...the bigger fish to fry comment--well this is one fish out of many and "we" the line pilots have spoken) if one reads the comments on Flying together it is very obvious that a LARGE and I mean 95% to more do not like the design, color, and choice this uniform brings to the table.
When we read comments about "Its not so bad". "when you see it in person you will like it". or "Its not the final colors--its just a "fit" test". many start to raise the BS flag!
I am reminded of a NWA Capt'n I knew pretty well......you know the "Cobra Airlines boys" who STRUCK more times than any other pilot group, were paid very well and flew a lot of Widebody airplanes...."You idiots at United and the no hat thing.....go ahead and don't wear your hat--stop wearing a uniform--look like everyone else and be prepared to be paid like crap---and treated like crap! Maybe he was right?
Can't believe this concept is so hard....for some.
