While I agree the military route is different. Going from general aviation to 121, there is a huge transition. While I agree flight instructing is helpful as well and beneficial on the ga side of things, a new person in the 121 side doesn't know squat. There is a huge learning curve when transitioning from piston to turbine.
I guess what I'm trying to say is I don't know how much instructing is going to help, if at all, once you step foot into an rj. Keep in mind, I think instructing is good and beneficial but not when it comes to this side of the industry.
