However, a wrinkle is that the Super Bowl is one of the "APD Holidays"--they can deny a PD regardless of coverage. From what you describe, it probably won't work--because on those "holiday" periods, you have to get a day-by-day coverage that is worse (not the same) to make the swap. On non-holiday periods, there appears to be an exception (experience, I cannot point to a reference) for "same day" swaps; but not during the "holiday"--you would have to have a 3-day or greater trip to "cover" the one you have, even though only the single day is showing negative....



You could try: trading for that 1-day AND something that covers the other days (then drop the second trip you don't want). Trading for that 1-day AND something with a negative number somewhere (assumes you either want that 2nd trip or are willing to roll the dice that it will allow you to drop it down the road).
