I used to be able to have 16-17 days off and credit ~85hrs/month. Now I can't do that because most of the lines, regardless of days off, are built to 75-78hrs. With my seniority I'll be lucky to hold 15 off, which will turn into closer to 9 or 10 after factoring in all the uncommutable trips. If I want to bring my credit up to what I'm used to, I'll have to pick up two more days of flying somewhere, thereby further ruining my personal life, which I am unwilling to do. Hence the pay cut. It's even worse when you factor in the cost of the hotels/crashpads we will need now but didn't need before.
I wasn't talking about pre- vs. post-JCBA, I'm talking about pre- vs. post-JCTE for the airbus people. But since you brought it up, the JCBA was a huge raise for the Boeing side too so that point is kind of irrelevant. Anyway, I think it would be pretty eye-opening for the Boeing pilots to see just how many Airbus people would give up their new payrates to have their old schedules back after getting the gut punch of these lines.
