Absolutely agree! Without a doubt performance takes by far the longest to teach and explain when I’m conducting IOE. This applies to captains and FOs alike.
FM-1 & AOM-1 does a pretty good job explaining the entire EWBS and TPS line by line but not many go that deep unfortunately.
As someone else said, calculating Bingo fuel & holding times is a close 2nd on time explained during IOE. Again, this applies to the Captains too
Not one of those was mentioned on IOE it in training class. Now it’s up to all those that were poorly trained to scramble.
The company should accept some of the blame and actually take time to teach it.
