I agree they should be teaching it and your IOE check airman should absolutely be covering those items in detail. I know I do and many of the ones I know do, so it’s a shame yours didn’t. I would recommend you dig in the books and self teach as much as possible and ask your captains questions. When I’m not doing ioe I encourage FOs I fly with to ask questions especially those close to upgrade.
I absolutely was not taught anything on IOE other than basic stuff, none of which is performance. This was a couple years ago during the big hiring wave so things moved pretty quickly, not to mention right at the bare minimum of 25 hours.
I have taken the time to ask questions and learn the material, at least I think I have, but again with no training from the school house its hard to know exactly what it is they want you to know.
