Howdy. I’m a retired army guy looking to get into 121 flying. I haven’t flown anything in a couple of years and was looking to start applying to select regionals in a few months. I’m in the PNW and would prefer to stay here, so Horizon was at the top of my list.
Here are my stats:
3600 TT
2000 FW (all King Airs and Citations)
800 FW PIC
A couple questions for the well-informed:
1. Would Sun Country consider hiring me since I haven’t flown in the last 2.5 years, or would I need to do some flying first?
2. Assuming PDX opens this summer, what are the chances of new hires going there (best guess)?
I have no intention of moving my family to MSP, but if PDX is an option I think this might be a good place to start my civilian career. I'll do some digging in the forums for more information. Thanks for the help!
If you haven't flown professionally in 2.5+ years, I would strongly suggest getting through a regional 121 training program first. A lot of guys come back to the regionals after washing out of training at Sunny/Frontier/Spirit/Atlas/Omni. I had almost half a dozen in my class at Envoy.
