Historically they had separate piles, but I don't think they have those now, or at least they aren't under any court order to do so. But even if they do have separate piles, I guarantee one of them is not "who applied the longest ago."

Apply and then update as frequently as you can. Nobody knows what specifically goes into the secret formula, but more flying, more aircraft types, more PIC, a 4 year degree, more instructor/management positions, recommendations, more this, more that, and more of the other thing will all get you more points.

How many for each thing I don't know, but keep flying and keep updating and then someday (hopefully sooner rather than later) UA will let you know when the secret formula has spit out your name.
